Overcoming Login Problems with Microsoft Lync Server on Office 365 using sipdir.online.lync.com:443

Recently a lot of users have been confused about how to log in to Lync server both when they are using an *.onmicrosoft.com domain or their own domain. I have read many articles with factual errors about Lync including that you had to use the *.onmicrosoft.com domain only, or that you had to use an outside Windows Live ID for it. The fact is, you can hook up your own business domain and use it for Lync Server, as I illustrate with the new profile of Marcus Wayasamin, President and CEO of First United Services, a Mortgage Renegotiation Firm.
